Welcome to your first day at ByteDown security (a totally fake company). Thanks for applying for the job as Junior Security Consultant. We are so happy you wanted to join us.
We are Ethical Hackers. We help companies improve their security so that the bad guys don't hack them first. Companies pay us to hack them and tell them what we find so they can fix it. We are White Hat hackers.
Black Hat hackers are the other type: they scan the internet for people who have not protected their stuff, and then they break in for fun or profit or to just cause chaos. It is our job to to make their job much harder... (Learn more: Why do hackers hack?)
